Welcome to the Patterson Patch handmade hats and beanies shop. I use two very specific yarns that work well on my loom and create really nice stripes. Every skein of yarn is different, so the order of the colors and width of the stripes may vary. The swatches below show the colors as advertised by the manufacturers. All hats are double-layered for extra warmth, and have a button that says “Made with Love” sewn inside.
Pom-poms can be added to any hat for $3, or you can attach any pom-pom (with an elastic loop) you may already have.

Lion Brand Landscapes Yarn
These hats are made with a very thick, heavy yarn that is very warm and soft. These hats will stretch to fit most adult heads but are also tight enough to fit most children. I can also custom-make a slightly shorter hat to better fit smaller heads. I make both hats in the fold-over style as well as beanies. Hats are $30 and Beanies are $25 plus tax, and shipping unless available for local pickup.

Red Heart Unforgettable Yarn
These hats are made with a smoother, silkier yarn that has more stretch to it. They will fit most anyone and are soft, warm, and available in many different colors. Hats are $25, Small Hats and Beanies are $20 plus tax, and shipping unless available for local pickup. Because of how stretchy these hats are, the Small Hat is recommended for children age 5 and under. I usually have Hats in-stock for each color, but make the Small Hats and Beanies when they are ordered. There are many colors of this yarn on Red Heart’s website, but some of them are not available to purchase as they are either discontinued or sold out. I will update this page if any of these colors become available. The available yarn colors are pictured below, where you can see both the skeins and a closer view or swatch. Loops and Threads
This is a new brand of yarn I found with vibrant colors and is more widely available than the other yarns i have been using. Some of the colors are very similar to the other two yarns I use. This yarn makes similar hats to the Red Heart Unforgettable hats and is very soft and stretchy and will fit most heads.
POM-POMS
A pom-pom can be added to any hat or beanie for $3 each. There are many colors to choose from, and I can send pictures of your hat next to different pom-poms so that you can choose the one you like best. All pom-poms attach by an elastic loop that is drawn through the top of the hat and secured to a button inside. I advise that you remove the pom-pom before washing your hat as it can become matted and less fluffy. You can also purchase multiple pom-poms as they are interchangeable, so you can mix and match with your hat.
